The PEI Coalition for Public Services is a collection of Island organizations who recognize the benefits of a robust, reliable, and high-quality public system.

We are advocates for government-owned and -operated public services that are accountable to the public and accessible to all.

We strongly believe in the powerful role public spending plays in ensuring a better quality of life, as well as the economic and social importance of public services that reduce inequality and meet the basic needs of all people. Strong public services can be achieved through a fair taxation system, where all individuals and corporations pay their share.

We believe the role of governments — federal, provincial, and municipal — is to create and manage services with good quality, unionized jobs, ensure those systems will protect our environment, and actively collaborate with communities so that the will of the people drives the political process.

We believe in a society based on human rights, in which lives of equality, dignity, respect, and freedom from discrimination and harassment can be realized.

Public services are the most accountable, responsible, and democratic way to ensure universal access to healthcare, education, housing, and other essential services that meet the needs of everyone on Prince Edward Island.
